Visitors are invited to take part in customized tours of the Capitol exploring the unique art, architecture, and history of the building and its reconstruction and renovation. Please stop by the new Visitor Services Center on the first floor, just inside the east doors, for information on tours and events.

Free Guided Tours Every Hour
Guided tours begin inside the east doors of the Capitol on the first floor and last approximately one hour. Tours are offered at the beginning of the hour between 9:00AM and 4:00PM, Monday through Friday, with the exception of state holidays. A reservation at least one week in advance is required for groups of 10 or more. Evening tours may be scheduled on Wednesdays at 6:00PM and 7:00PM by appointment only. These tours tend to fill up quickly, so be sure to book well in advance! You may also use a self-guided tour brochure, available at the Visitor Service Desk, to explore the Capitol on your own anytime the building is open to the public. If you are visiting with children, please feel free to download the Capitol Bingo activity here. Groups of 15 or less are invited to complete the activity and stop by the Visitor Services Office during business hours for a special treat! Due to limited resources, we cannot, unfortunately, provide the Bingo prize to school groups.
Docent-Guided Tours for Students and Groups
We offer guided tours for students and large groups. Visitors will enjoy learning about Utah history, government, and the art and architecture of the Capitol. The total group size for one tour appointment, including students and chaperones, may not exceed 30 attendees on Mondays and Fridays, and 80 attendees on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. You are welcome to schedule multiple appointments in one day in order to accommodate your group size. We also invite you to use our student dining area, located next to our Capitol Store on the first floor. To use this space please make a reservation in advance.
We invite you to contact the Visitor Services Center to schedule tours of the Capitol or to get helpful information about legislative activities, special events and advice on transportation. Please note that all bridal/family/commercial photography at the Capitol is by appointment only.
