Approved for the Capitol Complex
To plan a successful event at the Capitol, here is an overview of our catering guidelines. To ensure food safety and a high-quality experience for all guests, please review our requirements below before selecting a caterer from our approved list:
Large Venues
(Rotunda, Hall of Governors, Plazas, South Steps, and Lawn Areas)
- Full-Service Required: Standard food and beverage service in these iconic spaces must be full-service. Full-service includes food preparation, staffing, setup, service, and cleanup by the catering staff throughout the event.
- Boxed Meal Exception: Individually packaged boxed meals are permitted as a drop-off option.
Conference Rooms & Conference Centers
- Drop-Off Boxed Meals: Convenient drop-off service is permitted in these spaces exclusively for individually packaged boxed meals. This food can be picked up by the event organizers.
- Buffet Allowed: If sternos are needed to heat the food, a catering staff member must remain on-site.
- Exception: If food is set up outside the conference room, a catering staff member must be present unless it is a boxed lunch.
These policies are strictly enforced for all Capitol events to guarantee a smooth and seamless experience.
